Dowman dazzles in Arsenal's pre-season rout of Girona

Arsenal's attacking depth appears refreshed after their Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain, with five of their seven offensive players absent from the squad that faced Girona at Montilivi.

The Gunners' opening goal epitomised Dowman's influence. The teenager executed a sharp turn to create space, then threaded a pass for Kai Havertz, who finished clinically past Paulo Gazzaniga. Christos Tzolis, Arsenal's new signing making his debut, doubled the lead with a low finish that took a slight deflection into the corner.

Girona briefly responded when Arnau Martinez headed in from a corner after the interval, but Dowman restored Arsenal's cushion within three minutes, blasting from outside the box. Gabriel Jesus wrapped up the win moments later after a defensive lapse.

According to Sky Sports, Tzolis impressed throughout his 60-minute cameo, particularly down the left flank, whilst Myles Lewis-Skelly's progressive passing caught the eye. Both academy graduates demonstrated creative intent alongside Dowman, suggesting Mikel Arteta's attacking options extend well beyond the established names awaiting their return from extended breaks.

Arsenal travel to Dublin on 5 August to face Real Betis in their next friendly.
