Holdt: Spurs' Second-Place Perch Deserved—Title Rivals Await

Tottenham sit three points behind Manchester City and a point above London City ahead of Sunday's clash at the Lionesses, but Olivia Holdt sees no frustration in the squad about their position. The Denmark forward, speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, dismissed any sense of discontent: "There's nobody thinking it's annoying that we're second right now," she said.

Spurs' early-season credentials are compelling. They've scored 15 league goals—most in the WSL—while conceding just twice. Holdt herself struck a hat-trick in their 7-0 demolition of Crystal Palace and notes that goal contributions remain spread across the squad.

The real measure of Martin Ho's side comes next. After hosting London City on Sunday, Tottenham face Chelsea and Arsenal in successive matches following the international break. Holdt frames these as the meaningful tests of their title credentials: "Coming up against the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, it's going to be a really good test for us to see where we stand."

She acknowledges those opponents represent "a level up," recognising their historical pedigree but backing Spurs to "give them a good game." According to Sky Sports, how Tottenham emerges from this fixture run—if they remain in the top three and maintain their attacking potency—could cement them as genuine title contenders come May.
