Manchester United has pinpointed the location of their proposed 100,000-seater stadium, which will sit roughly 350 metres north-west of Old Trafford and become the largest ground in the UK.

The Red Devils acquired most of the land earlier this month to begin construction on what will be their new home—branded 'New Trafford'—with a build timeline of five years, according to Sky Sports.

The stadium sits at the heart of the wider Trafford Wharfside regeneration scheme, a year-round sports and entertainment destination featuring thousands of new homes, improved public transport, and cycling and walking infrastructure.

Design highlights include an umbrella roof engineered to harvest solar energy and rainwater, alongside three masts that will make the ground visible from up to 40km away—on a clear day, reportedly visible from Liverpool's outskirts.

At 100,000 capacity, the new stadium ranks second in Europe behind Barcelona's expanded Camp Nou (105,000). It will eclipse Wembley's 90,000 to become England's largest, far exceeding Old Trafford's current 74,879 capacity. The Stretford End alone will house 23,500 seats across lower and upper tiers.

United plan to continue playing at Old Trafford throughout construction, though the future of the existing ground remains undecided. Renderings released by the club carry the caveat they are not final and subject to change.
