Pocognoli Breaks Scotland's Scoring Curse, Robertson Hits 100 Caps

Two draws to kick off Pocognoli's reign. Then, in Skopje, Scotland showed up. Kieron Bowie, who probably couldn't hit a barn door before this, finally snapped a mind-numbing 420-minute goalless streak. Buried it in the bottom corner. His first international goal. John McGinn sealed it. Penalty spot. Another one for his impressive 22 Scotland goals. Simple.

Robertson, captain and veteran. Now only the second bloke ever to rack up 100 caps for Scotland. The Liverpool man was everywhere. Chasing, creating, nearly scoring himself multiple times before the net finally rippled.

Drama? You bet. First half, a dog wandered onto the pitch. Only in football, right? Then VAR got involved. Scotland thought they had a penalty. Nope. Overturned. Later, another handball. Rangers striker Bojan Miovski, clearly on the line. No argument there. McGinn stepped up, tucked it away.

Much sharper than that midweek drubbing by Switzerland. Pocognoli's crew bossed the ball for long stretches. Trouble is, they finished with ten men. Scott McKenna saw red. Late, last-man challenge. Just like Jack Hendry's against the Swiss on Tuesday. Sloppy.

Next up, Slovenia. Tuesday. Hampden Park. Final Nations League fixture of this international break.
