The Spanish club have secured the 19-year-old on a seven-year deal running until summer 2033, according to Sky Sports. Personal terms with Diomande had already been agreed before the clubs finalised their fee negotiations.
Real Madrid's initial bid of £85.4m was rejected by Leipzig, who held firm on their valuation and ultimately extracted double that amount. The Ivorian will join fellow recruits Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella at the Bernabéu.
Diomande's move caps an eventful transfer window after PSG withdrew from the running. The French club had agreed personal terms and appeared positioned to land their man, but public statements cited the asking price and salary demands as "completely disproportionate and distortive".
Liverpool declined to push beyond £85m, whilst Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City also registered their interest without progressing further. Rising from just six Leganés starts last season to becoming a continental target underscores Diomande's rapid emergence at Leipzig, where his attacking flair proved irresistible despite his tender age.
Betting angle
Real Madrid's transfer outlay signals intent this season; their summer activity could shape title odds across competition markets.
