Sky Sports Goes All In: Every EFL Opener Live This Weekend

The new EFL season? Sky's got it locked down. They're airing *everything* from the jump. Wolves host Blackburn on Friday, August 14. Then the Championship, League One, League Two action rolls right through the weekend. It all finishes with Wrexham playing Cardiff on Monday, August 17. Every single minute, live.

So, what's the grand plan? Sky's promising over 1,000 games. That's across the EFL, the Carabao Cup, and the EFL Trophy. Throughout 2026/27, every single one of the 72 EFL clubs will clock at least 20 live appearances on the platform. Twenty. That's a serious bump in coverage. Big money. More eyeballs. More chances for your Saturday accumulator to go sideways.

How to watch this deluge? Your main Sky Sports channels, obviously. Or Sky Sports+. That's baked into Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and the good old Sky Sports app. Not a full-blown Sky subscriber? NOW subscribers and non-Sky customers can still get in on the action. Grab a day or month membership pass. Simple enough.

Don't expect every kick-off time months in advance, though. Selections for fixtures up to early March 2027? Those get locked in by November 6 2026. After that, expect weekly updates. And if you're eyeing the penultimate or final weekend matches, you'll get three weeks' notice for the former, one week for the latter. Last-minute decisions. Keeps you on your toes. Or just annoyed.
